MTH 570: Topics in ergodic theory and arithmetic geometry
Note: If this course is being taught this semester, more information can be found at the course home page.
This course is a prerequisite or co-requisite for
An introduction to the probabilistic viewpoint in dynamical systems, and the more recent equidistribution results in arithmetic geometry.
After brief overview of ergodic theory and dynamical systems, the course will center on arithmetic heights in dimension 1. The emphasis will be on the intersection of these topics: Arithmetic dynamics.
