Carlson proved that if f is an entire function of exponential type, its growth on the imaginary axis is sub-exponential, and f vanishes on the integers, then f is identically zero. We are going to refine this theorem by describing not only the function’s growth but also providing necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of its spectral measure.
