The Ihara zeta function is commonly used to related closed walks to the spectrum of the adjacency matrix. Its definition is an infinite product, and Bass provided a proof of its determinant formula, which enables the calculation of the function. In the presentation, we will go through the definition of the Ihara zeta function and its determinant formula with some examples, and provide a detailed proof of the determinant formula with the help of the edge zeta function.
