Last passage time is of great interest in percolation theory. Kingman’s theorem guarantees the existence of the time constant. This time constant is hard to describe in infinite settings involving independent identically distributed random variables and full understanding remains a big open problem. On the other hand, some special properties arise in a random periodic environment and it is such an environment we are working with where we will investigate the time constants in more detail.
