The goal of this talk is to introduce the basics of probabilistic number theory. After giving a brief historical context, we will state the Erdős-Kac Theorem, known as the Fundamental Theorem of Probabilistic Number Theory, and provide some computational experiments to develop intuition about it. Lastly, we will prove the theorem and, depending on time, discuss some current trends in the topic.
