State space models are often used to describe dynamical systems and fractal structures that naturally appear in applied sciences. For the first half of the talk, some classical mathematical frameworks that validate the state space reconstruction techniques will be discussed. I will then discuss related research problems and results from computer experiments. Time permitting, I will further explain their connections to modern approaches.
