In this talk, we show that a 1-frame field on a simply connected, closed, spin, 7-manifold can be extended to a 2-frame field. Main ingredient of the proof is Postnikov resolution of a fibration. A corollary of our result is that every almost contact structure on an (almost) G2 manifold is B-compatible with the G2 structure. This is joint work with E. Windes.
