In the previous lecture, entitled “Basic Skills I: Geometric series and friends” we discussed geometric series, the binomial formula, summation by parts, and finite sums closely related to the geometric series. Both the .pdf of the slides of this talk and the video can be found on the web.

In this lecture, we are going to move on to infinite sums and a variety of methods for adding them up and estimating them. A variety of connections with elementary counting principles and probability will also come up.
