As the title says, Falconer’s conjecture will be discussed, with a quick proof for a partial result. A lot of research has stemmed from this problem, in the continuous setting, the discrete (P. Erdös) and even in finite fields (T. Wolff). In this talk we will be confined in the continuous setting however. It will also be an opportunity for me to discuss my progress in some related problems.
