Allan Greenleaf awarded Simons Foundation Fellowship

UR Professor of Mathematics Allan Greenleaf has been awarded a 2015-16 Fellowship from the Simons Foundation.

By extending a one-semester leave from the University to a full year, the Fellowship will allow Allan to pursue his research in harmonic analysis, microlocal analysis, inverse problems and transformation optics.

Two other Simons Fellows in the recently announced 2015-16 class with UR Math connections are Octav Cornea of the University of Montreal, a 1993 UR Math Ph.D. under the direction of Emeritus Prof. Joe Neisendorfer, and John Etnyre of Georgia Tech, who will be giving a Colloquium and a Geometry Seminar in the Department on March 19 and 20.
